Plating is a critical step as a final finish. We are very sensitive to our customers needs. They have already spent time, material and labor in fabricating parts to their customer's specifications. Most of the time the plating process is the only step prior to the final assembly and delivery. We believe in plating parts with excellent results the first time. During our weekly meetings everyone is reminded of treating customers' parts like a piece of jewelry. At UNITECH INDUSTRIES our goal always has been zero defect plating. Unitech Industries is well known for processing parts meeting the most stringent plating specifications at a short notice. This can only be achieved by our dedicated and highly trained employees, keeping plating solutions working at the optimum and having the right equipment.
Plating processes must be maintained to the optimum specifications recommended by our chemical suppliers. We achieve this with our in house lab as well as having plating solution samples checked by outside labs. Instruments include: Atomic Absorption, Spectrometer, several microscopes, pH meters, scales, inspection tables equipped with magnifying glass, X-ray fluorosence machine to check for plating thickness, hull cell and other equipment needed to ensure we are meeting or exceeding customers specifications. Our goal is and has been to reduce waste by providing quality plated parts first time all the time. We practice and believe in Quality At The Source.

Our Incoming Inspection
Our goal is to plate 100% good parts. We strive to achieve this goal by concentrating on the following:
Maintain plating processes within parameters: Well trained platers who understand minute details of plating and are committed to plating quality parts all the time, To be an extention of our customer's quality control department. Check incoming parts for any defect that may interfere with quality plating. Of course, we can never check every single incoming part but it helps to eliminate even one bad piece from production. In our metal finishing lines it is much easier to spot parts that our platers decide will not respond to preplating processes and set them aside for our customer's decision. However, incoming Printed Circuit Boards are much harder to spot for potential problems. Again with our extensive experience in plating on pc boards we have saved our customers time, money and aggravation by notifying them of issues that may have escaped their inspection. This is done either by e-mailing them a picture of defective parts or a simple phone call to discuss. There are not enough words to describe how grateful our customers are for this added service at no charge.
The following are a few examples of quality plated parts with quick delivery.
Aluminum housing with surface area of 50-100 sq. in. requiring 5-12 microns of electroless nickel, 0.75-3.0 microns of hard or soft gold, baking at temperatures to 1000 deg.F and delivering around 150 pcs. In 2-3 days.
Etched copper sheets 12"X18". Sulfamate Nickel 0.00003-0.0001 under 0.00003-0.00005 soft or hard gold, Strip photo resist if requested. 150-200 sheets 1-2 days.
200 + 18X24 panels, ENIG. Same day service. 100% good panels.

Unitech Industries has been providing excellent quality and fast turn around to our printed circuit board customers for more than 20 years. Whether we are plating one 32" X 32" panel or 400 panels per day we have maintained near perfect quality.
Plating on circuit boards involves many variables that are outside of our control. These include the various films and masks and their compatability to different plating processes as well as any localized contamination resulting from production. As a job shop we have to adjust to the different pre-plating steps that our customers have employed. Because we understand that there is already significant investment once a circuit board gets to the plating phase and little ability to "rework" if there are problems, we have instituted a policy of never running more than one panel first. This panel goes through the plating steps per specification and through our quality department and should we find anything outside of perfection we will inform the customer who can then be provided with photos (macro and micro) by email if needed before making a decision to process any more. This is in addition to our incoming inspection of all panels.
